Accommodation and Sleep
- Couchsurfing, HospitalityClub, trustroots, BeWelcome, etc.
- You can also look for a couch host through CouchBot: send a command with the city name in the VK group messages or via CouchBot in Telegram. Tips for writing a successful request can be found here.
- It is possible to camp in your own tent on the deserted banks of the Uda River. Unlike in neighboring cities, there are no coal mines or correctional facilities here.
Other useful info
- The city is accessible by the former federal highway R255 (previously M53), or by train on the Trans-Siberian Railway. There is likely never going to be a bypass road, as the only road bridge across the Uda handles the traffic well. Entering from the east, you'll see a huge military base storing equipment and weapons on both sides of the road. It is better not to try to photograph it.
