Complete and submit the following form to request a user account.

Make sure that you first read the Terms of Service before requesting an account.

If you have any questions or want someone to quickly approve your account, you can ask around on our Signal chat or Matrix chat. Anyway, it is a great idea to join those groups to chat about all things hitchhiking.

You will receive several email, also check your spam folder for those emails.

You will receive a first email to confirm your email address. Following, our volunteers will review and approve your account request.

Once the account is approved, you will be emailed a second notification message and the account will be usable at login.

User account

A confirmation message will be sent to your email address once you submit this request. The address will not be published. Please respond by clicking on the confirmation link provided by the email. Finally, your password will be emailed to you when your account is created.

Personal information

Your biography will be set as the initial content for your userpage. Make sure you are comfortable publishing such information.

Try to include any relevant credentials in your biography below.

To help our volunteers to verify that you are human, you MUST include the following in the section below:

  • a quick introduction of yourself and especially your relationship to hitchhiking
  • a reference to another online presence of yourself (your personal website, instagram handle, trustroots account, mastodon handle, ...) or state explicitly that you cannot provide this or do not feel comfortable to do so
  • a link to one Hitchwiki article for which you can contribute knowledge, or if you are just starting to hitchhike, an article that you are particularly interested in
