Krasnoyarsk (Russian: Красноярск) is a city in Russia, the administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Krai. It is one of the largest cities in Russia, as well as a major economic, educational, and cultural center of Eastern Siberia. The city is situated in central Russia, on both banks of the Yenisei River.

Hitchhiking out

East towards Kansk and Irkutsk via M53

  • Take bus №90 to the final stop (Verkhnyaya Bazaikha). Then go down to Traktovaya street and continue along the road to the end of the settlement. Hitchhike at least as far as the village of Kuskun. Note: it’s preferable to get a direct ride as far as Uyar due to hilly terrain.
  • Go to the Eastern bus station (many buses go there – for example, bus №2 from Svobodny, №56 from the railway station), then transfer to bus №170. Get off at the stop "Nils" (immediately after the bus turns left onto Kirova in Berezovka), walk back to the turn, and continue straight along Traktovaya for about 600 meters to the edge of town. If someone offers a ride to Voznesenka, there is no big advantage ('flow joins from the bypass', but speed is high).
  • From the railway station, take an electric train to "Sady" station. Walk past the interchange; within 4 minutes you are at the city exit.
  • Take bus №78 to "Stantsiya Bazaikha", get off at Glinki street and walk 3 km beyond the interchange.
  • Take bus №94 to "Pozharnaya chast" (Fire station). This is already an industrial zone; feel free to start hitchhiking there.

West towards Achinsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk via M53

  • From the Intercity Bus Terminal, take buses 107 or 501 to "pos. Tvorogovo" stop (located on the highway), or to "CRB (Emelyanovo)" stop (in the village near the highway). Between these stops there is a traffic police post (DPS). It’s best to hitchhike past the junction, after the post.
  • From the railway station, take buses to pos. Solontsy: 67, 67a, 67v, etc. Get off at "ALPI" stop and walk about 1 km ahead to the junction with Severny highway (turn left). Or ask the driver to stop at the junction, if possible.
  • Take buses 52 or 87 to "DRSU", then walk slightly uphill to find a good hitchhiking spot. Alternatively, take bus 52 or 88 to "1-ya Kalinina" and walk to "Kirpichny zavod".
  • From Sovetsky district, especially Severny or Solnechny: go to "baza KPS" stop (under the overpass), then west on Severny highway.

South towards Abakan via R257 (former M54)

  • Take buses №19, 50, 78, and on weekends number 80 to the "Stela" (final stop). Walk to the highway and then up the hill; there’s a convenient spot about 100 meters further.
  • Alternatively, take a train or bus to Divnogorsk and look for a city bus to the hydroelectric station (GES), the turn onto the bridge is a good spot to hitchhike.
  • From the left bank, especially from Oktyabrsky and Zheleznodorozhny districts, it's faster to leave in the direction of Achinsk, then after about 80 km turn at the roundabout to Zeledeyevo, and connect to R257.

North towards Yeniseysk via R409

  • Go to the Solnechny district. Many buses go there (23, 60, 61, 63, 64, 69, 87). Go to the last stop, and walk towards 40 let Pobedy street – you'll reach the highway and a hitchhiking spot near the end of the climb and a gas station.
  • Bus №122 goes farthest along the Yenisey tract. Get off at "KrasTyazhMash" stop.
