Ussuriysk (Russian: Уссурийск) is a city in Russia, the administrative center of Ussuriysky Urban Okrug, located in Primorsky Krai. It lies on the Prikhankayskaya plain, 112 km from Vladivostok, on the Komarovka and Rakovka rivers, in a basin between hills. The Russian-Chinese border with the northern province of China, Heilongjiang, is 60 kilometers west of the city; the nearest Chinese city is Suifenhe.

Hitchhiking out
South towards Vladivostok on the "Ussuri" A370 (formerly M60)
- Rakovskoe highway. Bus No. 20A to Glukhovka settlement or bus No. 123C to Zarechnoe. Ask the driver to stop right after the overpass. Walk under the bridge. This is a fast spot!
- Vladivostok highway. The junction with the motorway is 4 km south of the final stop "Baranovsky garrison" of buses No. 11 and 11A. Bus 11C diverges slightly further, but there is no official stop at the turn. The DPS (traffic police) post is much closer to the city, at the intersection with Moskovskoe highway.
North towards Khabarovsk on A370
- Exit via Mikhaylovskoe highway. The DPS post is immediately after the Trans-Siberian Railway, but most cars go through here to Mikhaylovka.
- The stop at the turn to the highway is called "Nol" ("Zero"), and you can reach there from the main railway station by buses No. 101/110, it is their penultimate stop. Cross the highway past the Kolkhoznitsa monument and hitchhike across from the gas station. The road curves smoothly to the right. Alternatively, you can walk 2.5 km to the main junction with the highway.
Northwest towards Pogranichny settlement and the border crossing to China via A184
- Bus No. 105 to the turn-off to Stepnoe village.
- If bus 105 is not running, you can go on any bus to Novonikolskoe and get off at the last stop. Walk past the cemetery and stand at the smooth left turn.
