Hi, My name is Eliana Gonn, I don't use social media a lot but you can check my couchsurfing account. I have been hitchhiking for the past 6 months, have covered 4000 kilometers so far (from Colombia to Peru and now I am going to Bolivia). I usually hitchhike at gas stations because it's easier. If you stand on the side of the road here nobody stops because they think you want a taxi, or they think that you want to rob them. At gas stations they can have a good look at you and you get the opportunity to explain what you want. The key to good hitchhiking in South America is finding the right gas station, and I am getting better at it. I usually wait 5-15 minutes max once I am at a right location.
