Tambov (Russian: Тамбов) is a city in Russia. It is the administrative center of Tambov Oblast. There is a bypass road from the north, from the M6 "Caspian" to the Penza highway.

Hitchhiking out

Northwest towards Moscow via former M7 (now R22)

• Bus №109 or №14a to the stop "Kompleks Motel". Walk past the junction. You can hitch at the gas station or by the roadside cafes. After 3 km, there is a junction for Lipetsk.

West towards Lipetsk, Yelets, Oryol via R119

• Bus №118 (via the train station and bus station) to the final stop "Stanitsya Selezni". Walk forward along the highway to the junction.

Southwest towards Voronezh via R193

• From the city center, take bus №119. Get off at the fork in Krasnosvobodnoe.

North towards Morshansk and Shatsk via A143

• Take buses heading to Tatanovo.

South towards Volgograd via former M7 (now R22)

• Similar to the exits to Moscow or Voronezh, but turn south at the bypass.

East towards Penza via R208

• From the central market, bus №111 to Tulinovka. Exit at the stop "station Rada". There is a traffic police post at the end of the bypass.
• You can also take a suburban train to "station Rada", from there walk 250 meters to the post.
