Surgut (Russian: Сургут) is a city in Russia. It is the administrative center of Surgut district in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, and the largest city of the region.

Hitchhiking out

Southwest towards Nefteyugansk on R404

• The interchange with the Tyumen road near the village of Solnechny. From Prospekt Lenina, take minibus #208. From the village, get back to the highway, for example, at the exit from the Lukoil gas station.
• Barsovo village. Second to last stop of minibus #202. From the monument, cross the railway bridge. It's 3 km to the traffic police checkpoint.
• The traffic police and weight control post before the bridge over the Ob river. Across the river, there are also several 24-hour gas stations with convenient stopping pockets for hitchhiking.

Northwest towards Lyantor

• You can reach the road to Lyantor from the Solnechny market. There's a truckers' parking lot, gas station, and cafe by the turn.
• Interchange with the northern bypass. Right after the interchange, there is a gas station, a cafe, and a traffic light.

East towards Nizhnevartovsk

• Take buses #21, 23, or minibuses #20, 33, 69. Ask to stop "on request" at the turn to the airport. Then hitch local rides for 22 km to the roundabout for Novy Urengoy and Nizhnevartovsk, or just 6 km to the intersection with the Northern Bypass.
