Best spot to hitchhike from is at a bus stop across from Tesco in the direction Žilina
Walk east outside of the town in the direction Poprad and Liptovský Mikuláš.
Walking south when looking for a ride in the direction Banská Bystrica works well, until you pass the shell gas station. Thumb from anywhere after that.
