Polish Hitchhikers Association

Polish Hitchhikers Association (Stowarzyszenie Autostopowiczów Polskich) is a community and NGO focused on integrating hitchhikers in Poland, creating events for them and promoting hitchhiking in general.

Events

There are 4 events being organised every year, each a bit different:

• Początek Sezonu Autostopowego/ Start of Hitchhiking Season in April - just meetup with a party.
• Autostopowa Noc Kupały around 22.06 - slavic/pagan style (note - this is just a motive/theme, not actual celebration etc) meetup, usually held somewhere in nature, often next to lake/river, with some activities inspired by slavic tradition with big fire on Saturday night
• Ogólnopolski Zlot Autostopowy/ Polish Hitchhikers Gathering in September - meetup with workshops, travel lectures, games, activities, party etc.
• Ogólnopolski Sylwester Autostopowy/ New Year Gathering like the September one but bigger, longer, and usually with some motive (like Hawaii, 80ies etc) and connected LARP being played during whole event.

Other Projects

There is Autostop House being open for July and August since 2023. There are also some grassroots events created every now and then by people in the community.
