Pereslavl-Zalessky (Russian: Переславль-Залесский) is a city in Russia, located in Yaroslavl Oblast. The city is part of the Golden Ring, sits on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo, and is rich in museums and monasteries. Pereslavl-Zalessky is a good option for a day trip by hitchhiking from Moscow. For beginners, it is convenient because there is always the option to switch to a suburban train.

Hitchhiking out
South towards Moscow
Option 1
The city itself is small, so you can reach the outskirts by any minibus "towards the exit of the city." Right at the city exit there is a steep ascent — it is best to hitchhike directly on it. If for some reason you end up at the end of the ring road, it is better to walk forward 200 meters — there will be a functioning police post, and after it there is another long climb.
North towards Yaroslavl
Option 1
In the direction of Yaroslavl, it is best to reach the end of the ring road — again, by any minibus "towards the exit of the city."
