Korenovsk (Russian: Кореновск) is a city and transport hub (population 44,000) in the geographical center of Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia. It is located 60 km northeast of Krasnodar on the M4 highway. In the city, you can transfer between the federal M4 motorway and the railway line of the North Caucasus Railway, which is convenient for leaving the Krasnodar agglomeration by morning suburban train.

Getting there without hitchhiking
The train station is in the eastern part of the city. All trains between central Russia and the resorts of Krasnodar Krai stop here. There are five suburban trains per day from Krasnodar-1 station. Bus station at 1 Tsiolkovsky Street is open daily from 5:30 to 19:40, Phone: +7 (86142) 4-14-01. Besides local routes within Krasnodar Krai, there are buses to Maykop, Novorossiysk, Novocherkassk, Rostov, Taganrog, and Shakhty.
Hitchhiking out
Northeast towards Rostov-on-Don via toll motorway M4
Option 1 - Karl Marx Street and M4 interchange. At the bus station, look for buses to Dyadkovskaya and Bratkovskoye. A bit past the interchange is the “Dachi-1” stop. City bus No. 6 does not go all the way to the interchange (about 1 km short). You can hitchhike at the end of the acceleration lane.
Southwest towards Krasnodar via toll motorway M4
The intersection of M4 and Frunze Street is not suitable for hitchhiking! There is a barrier and a fence, and all cafes and gas stations are on the service road. Best to get to the interchange on Karl Marx Street as described above. There is also a bus from the bus station to Platnirovskaya village – from there, it’s 2.5 km to the motorway. You can hitchhike at the triangular area opposite the gas station.
Southeast towards Ust-Labinsk and Maykop via A160
Take bus No. 3 to the final stop. There are streetlights at the turn to Timashevskaya Street. Slightly further south is a gas station and a city exit sign.
Northwest towards Timashevsk
The interchange at M4 and Karl Marx Street as already described above; you can hitchhike opposite the closed police post (GAI). There is also a bus from the bus station to Bratkovskoye, to the "Turn to Babiche-Korenovsky" stop. Here there is a wide shoulder and a bus stop, but no streetlights. A little earlier, at Proletarsky-1, another bus turns from Korenovsk to Dyadkovskaya. There is a wide shoulder, no streetlights, but a bus stop with a lane.
