Hitchhiking out
Comitán is small enough to navigate by walking, but it's not small and flat enough for you not to sweat if you have a heavy backpack. There are surely also options for taking public transport, if you know them, add them!

The fire station in Comitán is a friendly, hospitable place. It's close to the exit of town in direction of Guatemala.
